You've got questions, I've got answers, which you can find below. If you can't find it below then you should probably contact me and I will then try to answer your question and maybe even add it here.
What is your turnaround time?
Turnaround times depend on a few things including order size, design complexity, and product availability. Obviously smaller orders with less colours will take less time than a larger order with multiple colours. As a general rule our turnaround times are as follows.
10 - 15 business days
Rush (Please contact us for rush availability)
7-9 business days +$0.50 per piece
5-6 business days +$1.00 per piece
3-4 business days +$2.00 per piece
Turnaround time starts after payment and the approval of your art proofs. Turnaround times do not include pickup or shipping times meaning you should order with a turnaround time of one day earlier than you will need your order to be picked up or shipped.
Additional services such as folding, bagging, tagging, etc. require longer than normal turnaround times.
Do you have a phone number that I can call?
No. Currently Sausage Dog Promo Co. is a one man shop so if I’m printing, I can’t really answer the phone, plus details are far too easy to get mixed up over the phone and I can’t go back and reference a phone call like I can an email.
The best way to contact me, get a quote, or tell me about your new puppy is to email me. I check my emails at all hours of the day (seriously, if I wake up at 2am randomly, I usually check my emails) and will typically get back to you within hours and sometimes even minutes of sending me an email.
Do you have a minimum order?
Our minimum order requirement is 12 pieces per garment style and design.
Can I order one screen printed sample shirt before I place a full order?
There is a lot of set up time required to print even just one shirt so it’s not really ideal but sure, if you want to order one screen printed sample shirt you can. A single pre-production sample is $100 plus the blank garment cost.
Can I just buy blank shirts from you?
Yup! But it depends on what exactly you want. Certain brands contractually require that they be sold with embellishment. If you are just looking for some blank shirts or would like to purchase some blank samples prior to deciding which garment you would like to order feel free to contact me with the details of what you are looking for and I will let you know whether or not it can be done!
What format do you need my design in?
In order to get a nice print you need a nice, high quality file. Here are some guidelines.
- Editable, unflattened vector files are always best (.ai, .eps, .pdf), every customer that sends a nice vector file gets a free high five included with their order.
- High quality raster files are the next best (.psd, .tif, .jpg, .png), these files must be created at full print size and should have a minimum resolution of 300dpi.
You should also always ensure that your fonts are outlined! If they are not outlined then there is a pretty good chance that when we open it either the wrong font will appear or it will not be formatted correctly.
If you have any questions about setting up your art files feel free to shoot me an email at email@example.com.
How does pricing work?
I did the best that I could to make Sausage Dog’s screen printing pricing as easy as possible for my customers. All you have to do is be able to add two numbers together.
On each product page you will find a “starting at” price at the top of the page. This is the lowest blank garment price and is usually for a white or natural cotton coloured garment. Under the product description you may see a section called “additional info”, here is where you will find pricing for different colours, sizes, etc. you can use that section to determine your blank garment cost. If you don't see an additional info section then that means all sizes and colours and probably the same price.
Once you have the blank garment cost determined you can use the chart below to determine the cost to print on it. You’ll need to know how many you want to order as well as how many colours you want to have printed on it. Once you get the print price determined all you have to do is add that to the blank garment price and you have your price per piece.
Remember that you must add a new print price for every location that you plan to print. So if you want 50 shirts with 2 colours on the front and one colour on the back then you would need to add $3.50 + $2.00 + your blank garment price.
If you are having trouble determining a price let me know and I will gladly get a price together for you!
I also just want to note that while I make every effort to keep the pricing as accurate as possible on this website it is subject to change without notice, sometimes my suppliers will increase or reduce pricing without letting me know so I don’t find out until I have an order for that specific product. If there are any discrepancies with pricing on the product(s) you are looking for I will make sure to let you know before finalizing your invoice.
How do I pay for my order?
Credit card payments can currently be made with Visa, Mastercard, and American Express. Payments can also be made through e-transfer or PayPal to firstname.lastname@example.org.
The preferred method of payment is e-transfer because then the credit card companies and PayPal aren't snagging a sweet percentage of the payment but it's up to you to choose how you would like to pay!
How much is your set up fee?
Set up fee, shmet up fee! The pricing you see on the website and the pricing you receive in a quote is all inclusive. This makes things much easier and less confusing for you when everything is bundled into one price. No need to worry about any of those top secret fees that other places toss in there at the last minute.
Will you ship to me?
Sure thing! I'll ship anywhere the shipping companies will deliver to.
Will you ship internationally?
Definitely! But if you’re outside of Canada you will be responsible for any tariffs, duties, taxes, and other super-not-cool fees that your government and shipping companies try to charge you when they are imported.
What ink colours do you have?
I've got a bunch of different stock colours available which you can view here.
I can also custom mix inks fairly close to any of the colours you can find in a Pantone Solid Coated swatch book.
I've also got metallic gold specialty ink in stock at the moment. If you are looking for any other specialty inks or colours you are unsure about just ask!
Can you print over the zipper of a shirt?
This isn’t really a good idea. If you print too close to or over a zipper (or even a seam for that matter) it can give you some pretty undesirable results, inks get thicker, designs can get distorted. It really just ends up not working out the nicest so I prefer to not print over any zippers, seams, etc.
Can I provide garments for you to print on?
In general the answer is no. But understandably there may be some sort of special thing that you want printed that I am unable to source, in a case like this providing garments would be acceptable.
You must provide accurate quantities and descriptions of the garments prior to them arriving to me, this would include garment colour and fabric type(s). All garments need to be sorted by design. Artwork must be print ready preferably in vector format, if vector is not available a full sized, 300dpi raster graphic would be acceptable.
Additionally when providing your own garments I cannot be held responsible for replacing any misprinted garments. These orders will not qualify for any sort of return, credit, or replacements.
Specific types of garments and print placements may result in additional fees. If garments are not sorted properly, are not described accurately, or if artwork is not print ready additional fees will apply.
Note that print pricing for customer supplied garments will vary from the print pricing for internally sourced garments so please reach out for a proper quote.
How will you pack my order?
Orders are typically organized in stacks of 12 by size and placed in a box. They are folded in half to properly fit in the boxes. If you require specific folding, bagging, etc. it can probably be done for an additional fee.
Why would you call your company Sausage Dog? That is a ridiculous name.
Because it’s my company and I can call it whatever I want! But actually, a while before starting this company I was thinking about starting up a marketing and design agency called Sausage Dog Design Co., that didn’t happen so I used it for this. I thought it was a cool name so why not?
Do you even own a dachshund/wiener dog/sausage dog/badger dog/whatever you want to call it?
Nope. Never have, probably never will, but they are cool dogs. My dad has two of them though so I get a bit of wiener action in here and there! I do however have a shepherd mix of some sort (Juno) and a brindle bulldog/mastiff mix of some sort (Ziva). Both of them are pretty small for the breeds (50-60lb). I got Ziva as a puppy and she is awesome, she stood with me in my wedding (actually she slept beside me through most of the ceremony and then wandered around getting all sorts of pets after from people) and she can jump really pretty high. Juno is a feral rescue who is terrified of dogs, people, noises, things, etc. and has been nearly impossible to break any of those fears, she has arthritis but is in denial about it and still jumps on and off of things, and catches birds out of mid air, but I love ‘em both! Also I have a cat, her name is Miss Kitty.
Can I see a picture of your dogs?
Uh sure, I guess. I have an Instagram @jakesdoggies, I don’t really update it any more but there are lots of pictures of dogs, some are mine and others are not, check it out. Feel free to send me pictures of your dogs and I can post them there if you want.
